EqualityMaine has been advocating on behalf of Maine’s diverse LGBTQ+ community for over 40 years.

We stand up in Augusta and across the state to counter our opponents, advocate for equality, and support our allies.

We know that structurally, policymaking was never intended to include or support LGBTQ+ people. We work to educate our community and allies on policy processes at all levels of governance, from your local school board to the state legislature. We work to share timely actions about how to fight anti-LGBTQ+ policy, how to engage policymakers in meaningful discussion, and how we can help one another when our systems fail us, or worse, actively harm us.
